Poetry Contest!

Sheik made a surprise event today!

This will only last for one week, everyone will post poetry in this post. Let yourself have fun!
You can use Diamante, Acrostic, Free verse, Haiku, Limericks and many more! It has to be from the heart and imagination, which means it's ALL you, if you use someone else's work you will be disqualified hoebags! I can google what you wrote to see if it's a plagiarized.
I'll show you an example of each poem.

Here are some of mine!

Diamante: Must Have opposites, one on the bottom and the other on top, for example love and hate. At the second to first line and second to last line it must have two words describing the noun directly above or below it (see example below). At the third to first and third to last lines you must use three words (you can also use a word that helps describe the word with the ing, i.e. ferociously eating) with ing that describe the noun it is closest to or what you picture when you think of the noun. The middle line must lead the first noun into the next, which means continuing the poem by changing the first noun into the next noun, like this "Sun falls, then the moon rises". This changes the noun from A beautiful Day to a calming Night.

It's suppost to form a diamond. It only needs to be one stanza though, I just made it a three in one.


Acrostic: It's so easy! Just make a word going straight down and make a sentence or another word for each letter.

Haiku: This is a very well known form of poetry, it consists of a short stanza of three lines with the first line containing any amount of words, but must altogether contain only five syllables, the second must be seven, and the third five again. It's not too hard, if you don't know what a syllable is, it is the amount of beats in a word. For example take the word compound, Com-pound, That makes two syllables, now try Canada, Can-a-da. That makes three

Limerick: Lz will like this one! This is a poem where you just say something, random silly and funny! It consists of a stanza with five lines in a sing-song rhythm. The first, third, and fifth lines must rhyme with each other, and the second and fourth must rhyme with the other (preferably shorter then the other three lines). The rhyme pattern is A,B,A,B.A. You can also do it with the first, second and fifth lines rhyming and the third and fourth lines rhyming as well i.e. A,A,B,B,A.

Here is how the first type of limerick should consist.

Pissed Yoga Girl

Free Verse: Basically a poem of anything you want, it can be funny or meaningful and it doesn't have to be in a rhyme or stanza. It's basically all you, no example is really needed.




There are many other forms of poetry but I don't wanna make it any longer than it already is (that's what she said) and I just want you all to have fun. Let your hearts write! Poetry is not girly, its a way of representing yourself and opening up to others. I think this will be a great way to bond with each other, I hope so, because I don't want our team to fight anymore.

The Judges will be The Eye of a Sheikah, zeldafreak07, and lionzero. Judges can play too, as well as vote for each other. I don't think I need to tell you that we can't vote for ourselves because your all little obedient boys and girls aren't you?

It will be a scoring system of 1-10. Ten being the greatest!

I will be Sheik/Zelda, ZF will be Link, and lz will be GANONWIFE. So it's a Triforce jugdement!

i like poems too, im not an artist but it's fun to right about what im into

btw how about no, this is sheikah haven, expect the unexpected. this is my realm man, it is completely different for the other 7 forums. it does not apply to any rules

i need to put on lotion
so i won't get burnt by the sun
and i can go have fun

i will swim and surf
i will be on my turf
the water down to my hips
then up to my lips

the title wave coming
while i am humming
now the water
splashes and dashes

the water is wild
never is mild
it's never tame
using it's fame

well isnt rap a form of poetry? im not trying to start anything here, so dont think im being rasict!

oh and sheik, i do write poetry. i had a few of them published and won many awards for them! its nice to see what others can do. lz loves my writing and expects a poem for every occasion we celebtrate lol

I feel like participating, but I'm too lazy to write any new material, so here's some song lyrics I wrote (so technically this is a free verse poem) when I was in a metal band about 2 years ago:

Yeah the old episodes are awesome...but the new episodes are still cool because of stuff like this:

of all the contests . i wrote poetry saying sorry to my mom if i did something wrong. But she always kept them and it was so embarrasing. u guys have a better chance of winning

Well I have been thinking about some stupid stuff and decided to write a poem based off of that to get it off my chest.

Mornings come
and the days flow
People come
and they go
The only ones you miss
are the ones you know
Life goes on
you will continue to grow
As the time passes
new people you will meet
But you'll never forget your friends
who lived across the street

I know ZF is probably going to bash me on this one...but as the friends I grew up with get ready to head their separate ways, I cant help but to go outside and look on the street that we used to play on. To look back and remember everything that has happened, and how out of touch we slowly became. In a weird way it hurts, but in another weird way..it makes me smile. I couldn't have asked for better friends and I'm glad I got the meet them.
lol I'm acting as if I'll never see them again or as if they are leaving tomorrow or something.
*sigh* I just had these weird little thoughts and had to write them down for some reason. I shouldn't even feel this way, and I probably sound stupid at this point, so I think I'll stop

awwwww...i feel the same way. it hurts me too, my family is gypsy we never stop moving...
